The design of the compartment coaches dates back to the early days of the railway. The “pr 11” design was one of the last Prussian compartment coaches built with a skylight roof and at the same time the most frequently built passenger coach on German soil. The three-axle and two-axle coaches were available with and without a brakeman’s cab. Some models are still kept at museum railways today.
