Alaska Airlines was one of the early operators of the 727. Between 1966 and 1994, no fewer than 61 trijets had seen service with the airline. In 1972, the airline embarked on an extensive rebranding to emphasize Alaska’s cultural diversity: an Eskimo, a gold digger commemorating the gold rush, Russian onion domes to honor Russian history in the region, and last but not least, a totem to symbolize Native Alaskan culture. This 727 with the green and gold livery variant appears as the third model in our series commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Boeing 727. So far, models of the legendary three-engine aircraft have been released in the colors of Delta Air Lines (Art.Nr. 537278) and the Pan Am (537285).
