• Snow white and subtle BMW motorsport stripes
Snow-white paintwork and the subtle motorsport colours blue, violet and red on the flanks and on the spoiler – this is how the BMW 2002 turbo arrives at WIKING. Of course, the letters of the “2002 turbo” are integrated into the racing finish. The design goes back to the then BMW racing director Jochen Neerpasch, interior designer Wolfgang Seehaus and exterior designer Manfred Renn. In 1972, the racing department went forward in these colours as BMW M GmbH as an independent division. The “02” was considered sporty and beautiful at the same time. At the end of the 1960s, the BMW 2002 was the perfect choice for anyone who wanted to demonstrate a fast-moving image. WIKING is presenting the colour-updated racing version of the classic, which once brought an impressive 100 hp onto the road. As a 1:87 model, the two-door car naturally has the round rear lights that were typical of the time. The original BMW 114 series, known to car enthusiasts as the BMW 02 series, had been rolling off the assembly line since 1966.
