An absolute icon among sports cars in the USA – the Corvette, named after a fast navy ship. The beautiful model of the Chevrolet brand created in 1911 by the founder of General Motors, Billy Durant (after Louis Chevrolet/planner of the first Chevrolet vehicles) is the “only true American sports car” and has been in continuous production to this day. Up to 2010, over 1.5 million Corvettes were produced and the number is steadily increasing. More than 40 Corvette models are spread across five body generations and no more than three chassis types.
The second generation, built in 1956-1957, with a 4.3-liter V8 engine with 210 or 225 hp (top speed of over 190 km/h) is still one of the most elegant and classic Corvettes today. The 1:87 model of this “American dream” brings its sporty elegance in miniature. For the miniature driver, the American dream became reality.
