Kidney table, petticoat and rock ‘n’ roll – the wild 1950s.
Just the right time for an extravagant, “cheeky” sports car – the Ford Thunderbird.
The noble two-seater with its V8 engine was initially positioned as a competitor to the Chevrolet Corvette, which was introduced in February 1953. The Thunderbird, which was larger, more powerful and more comfortable from the start and produced at the Ford plant in Dearborn, celebrated its debut on the streets of the world in early 1955. The elegant convertible is made especially for beautiful sunny days. Put the top back or the hardtop down and then it’s time to enjoy some fresh air and an unobstructed view all around.
