Trendy paint from the economic miracle for the tail fin
The dipsticks at the rear made the difference on the Mercedes-Benz 220 S and at the same time were a reckoning by the designers with the pontoon shape of the post-war years. When it came to the WIKING prototype of the Untertürkheim luxury limousine, people tended to talk more about the tail fins, which later gave it its name. Anyone who took a seat behind her wheel at the time should have made it. Everyone knew at first glance that pastel turquoise stood for modernity at the time – that was pure zeitgeist. Everyone else preferred to drive the mighty chrome body in black paint.
