VW double cabin for those who yearned for a pick-up
And, why not? At the time it was produced, the VW T3 evolved into a highly favoured recreational vehicle. The double cabin and the short flatbed with the toolbox arranged underneath easily won over anyone who ached for a pick-up made in Germany in those years. The manufacturers in Hanover unceremoniously breathed an air of sportiness into the “Bulli” by furnishing it with a roll bar – and WIKING has now created a 1:87-scale miniature of the original produced in those years. Representing the third generation of the VW transporter, the VW T3 was a common sight on the roads in the eighties – both in Germany and in Europe. Produced between 1979 and 1992, the T3 also constituted the last transporter series that came with a rear engine and rear-wheel drive, a feature that is responsible for the original’s status as a classic in the “Bulli” chronology.
